I fucking hate how big companies advertise their BIG NEW FEATURE as innovation and jump two major versions because of this...

New update:
UPDATE FROM 2.1.1 TO 4.1!!!
YOU CAN NOW ROTATE THE DISPLAY IN THE OPTIONS SCREEN AND IT ALSO ROTATES ITS VIEW.

WTF?!?!

    What companies?

    @martikyan Google, Samsung, Apple (Apple (Apple)) and all other major companies.
    They advertise features in such a great manner and increase their version numbers with ^2... in hobby/freetime projects those features aren't even worth an increase of the minor version. Take Android as an example: 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.4.1, 4.4 and then 5.0, 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0... and on and on

    @hypervtechnics to be fair big jumps in Android mostly introduce new and greatly changed APIs (via sdk versioning, I know)
    Not everything that changes is visible

    @Kimmax Yeah but that doesn't explain why the advertise the e.g. night mode as if they landed on mars just because its now integrated into the OS. And even now some third party apps do a better job.

    @hypervtechnics it's called marketing
    And yes, while the night mode isn't a big deal for us, technical affine people, it might be a big deal for users who don't understand that you could install things like that using an app
    We're talking about an user group that installs a flashlight app because it claims it makes your led brighter, so there's that

    @Kimmax Okay got your point xD
