You don't know untill you try... I have been with a developer for over 5 years now and we are still very happy. However, we are both not people who code non-stop. He does like to work on raspberry pi stuff occasionally, but I'm not really into that an we are both fine with that. I do know another developers couple that is engaged right now.
It really just depends on the two developers that would be together, but it's just as good of an option as any other and most certainly not impossible! -
@arazzz Tbh there is nothing to worry about. If you're dying it means you're alive and if you stop dying it means you're dead
-
@Stuxnet Ooh wow. For some reason I misread it as "But that's just me". My bad.
-
@8BitOverdose Lmao it's all good. I misread stuff all the time.
Once misread the instructions on an exam. Could've been done in 20 minutes but I ended up wasting an hour and a half lol -
@Stuxnet hahahaha great job! xd
I once did that too but ended up losing points for nothing. It probably was because my CS exam was on paper in a fucking LIGHT THEME! Really fucked with my brain -
NotARobot536y@8BitOverdose ONLY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAXIMIZING YOUR OWN FINANCIAL FREEDOM, BUT SOONER OR LATER IT WILL CAUSE A ./disconnect

Condor323366yPersonally I'd love to date a developer girl, but those are rare... However, I think that the reason why is much simpler to achieve. While there's always some that just get in the industry by showing off their tits, many developer girls are smart. And I tend to like smart people.
...
Well smart people these days are also becoming increasingly rarer, but at least that should be an achievable goal. -
Condor323366y@rutee07 good point. And yeah I see that sort of trophy showoff happen quite often in the dev world.. like "look, I got not only a girlfriend but a dev girlfriend! Bet you can't do that huh?"... And using other people like their personal search engine.. I hate it. Why are people always like that?
-
Condor323366y@rutee07 hah, true. But what'd make that us then, being those who don't like to be lumped in with said people? I hear that users tend to call the likes of us lizards sometimes, worshipping an owl or something like that.. owls are often associated with wisdom, so that'd check out I guess? 🤔
-
Condor323366y@rutee07 true, it'd be great to be able to at some point umount /dev/brain and just be fine with all the Facebook, Instagram, BuzzFeed, ... crap. To not care about data mining, having nothing to hide.. to enjoy the presence of other people just like them. To accept the current status quo, thinking that our efforts are insignificant and that nothing will change. Being bluepilled in a sense.
But I doubt that I'd be fine with that in the long run? Although knowing the current status quo in technology and the difficulty of changing it in a large scale to become better often makes me depressed, I enjoy my ability to disect systems and make a better experience for my own.
As for the people who call you (and me as well) assholes for outsmarting them and thinking of people as "stupid leeches until proven otherwise", honestly.. fuck them. -
Two people with a bad case of OCD, a driving need to be right about everything, egos bigger than houses, and smarter than average intelligence? What could go wrong lol. Or at least stereotypes for male developers maybe the female developers out there are not as much assholes as the male ones. But then if they're not why would they want to put up with asshole male devs? Hell I know I'm an asshole and would be a major pain in the ass to be in a relationship with.

valent0ne476yMy gf and I are getting our master's degree together so I guess it is ok until you start killing each other 😂

ceee67276y@rutee07 yessss guys do show this off ! .
Lol. My university has a facebook confession page ,and a lot of guys confess about how they wish/desire to have a Dev girlfriend.
One was like he would want to work at the same company as his girlfriend and have adjacent work desks .
* cringe * -
I don't see anything wrong with dating another dev. More things in common, and better understanding of dev related problems.
E.g. why you can't talk about the weather when you're in the middle of debugging some complex problem.
Tough on the end, the only thing that will matter, is how compatible your personalities are. -
I am wordpress developer who does not know how to talk to people. so I have zero chance.
-
py2js27656yNope not wise. If she becomes your wife then someday you won't get food over a stupid fight like php is bad
-
mahaDev22226yIf you can keep the shop talk to a minimum, that shouldn't matter, right?
But speaking from past experience, shop talk is bound to come up. My ex used to ask me for advice at times about hardware (I have very little knowledge in that area) and I couldn't help her and then she'd get pissed at times that I didn't help her.
As a developer, is it wise to date another developer?
