For me 1 beer can be useful to clean my brain and stop it from thinking too much about other things instead of coding.

Alcochol can be useful but in resonable quantities.

I wouldn't say coding itself is art.putting your code together in neat architectures, solving problem concepts, those can be artistic.

Code is a mistress demanding a lot of discipline and if you don't give it to her, she will fuck you up.

Hmm... I don't necessarily disagree with the "code is art" idea, although it's not always the case. Guess it depends on what you're coding.

With that said, I prefer to, uh, smoke and code.. (:

however if you've ever seen an xml file, or its specs, you should already know that most programmers have trouble doing most things in reasonable quantities
