I strongly dislike the www part in domain names (the subdomain, really), that's not really news anymore.

Loads of sites use it which I find annoying as fuck for some reason but so be it. (I understand that its very logical to loads of people)

And then you get a client who calls in because the email server isn't accepting her username/password.

*looks into the logs*

"incorrect authentication data: info@www.herdomain.com"

Kill it with fucking fire.

If you use Netlify, it will not load anything if you go to www.

It's just the public subdomain. Whats the problem about it?

@DataJockey The www part you mean? It just annoys the living hell out of me.

One reason is that with short domains (nu.nl for example) it adds to the length of the domain when it's very short and thus making it inconveniently (imo) longer.

Except for that, no clue. I just very much dislike it. Reason? Idk, why do some people not like a certain color or fruit? There doesn't have to be an argument always :)

Chrome 69..... It's all in the news I think cuz they will hide that part.... And a lot of people actually don't like that idea

@cervantes01 I'd rather jump off a bridge than work for a mass surveillance company!

It's just that the latest chrome hides subdomains as the default lol

    @cervantes01 Yeah I know haha

I like it because of its tendency to differentiate between tits.shits as a website and dns.tits.shits, a DNS server, nearly automatically.

@linuxxx I always assumed it was a standard to have a CNAME entry with 'www' pointing to @, always do this with my stuff. This way it shouldn't matter what you type in
And if you really want to be safe, do an internal redirect with Apache/Ngxinx from www.doman.com to domain.com

@Avyiel I hate it for some reason so I often don't even enable it haha

@linuxxx well that deletes the entire problem hehe
    No subdomain? No issues ^^

@linuxxx For those fucktards, maybe create a www subdomain and assign MX records on that. And call it "accessibility".

PS. Do correct me if I am wrong. Kind of a noob with server admin related things

I always register the www subdomain and let it redirect to the domain without this crap ;)
