Small agency, wants to try out some voice tech. Bought a Google AIY to get started, found some limits, worked round them.

Junior developer thought it would be fun to 'teach' it to swear.

Played around with some nice dialogflow intents, etc and got it all working.

Looking pretty good, loaded it with some quippy answers and case studies to show off our services.

Just got in to find out the boss has taken it to a presentation to a client about some of the new stuff we're doing... Now we are all sitting here waiting to see how many of us have a job tomorrow :-/

@devTea To be honest it will be a miracle if he gets it to work at all outside of the office but we're still kinda bricking it. Ah well, at least if it says something it proves we can make voice stuff 😁

@ynnk Thanks! 😀 been a passive member for a while but the sheer stupidity/randomness of this made me want to post.

Oh please update us on this, if your boss is good that swearing can really help you land some good contracts, people will find it funny, especially due to the look on your bosses face if it happens without him expecting it. great fun!!!

UPDATE: We still have jobs! Apparently it plugged in, worked fine, recited case studies, swore once, everybody laughed (don't know what it said). After a small peek at what was loaded from the junior it was pretty light swearing, glad we didn't all contribute 😂

They want us to explore it more so - paid research time! So very, very relieved.

This is such a great story to read

It'll be even funnier later if your clients requested 'more swears.' Still, glad to hear you guys made it through, good job!

You've @rageux you might have an idea there, I wonder if anyone has made a voice skill on any of the platforms to read out rants? Is there even an API?
