Elyz78096yI agree. Anyone who asks you to become someone else isn't good for you and shouldn't be in your life.

kiki352486y@irene thousands of tiny quirks and marks stolen from other people and left to boil inside your head for years turn into the whole new, _your_ identity.
We don't create things, we just discover them. -
Condor324966y> is it even possible to live with a person who doesn't even hug you
Interestingly I was just listening to a lecture on this topic from the School of Life 🙂 their videos make for great podcasts, do give it a try! This was the related video if memory serves me right: https://youtube.com/watch/...
I won't spoil it, but what I can say is that you've made the right choice. Everyone deserves love, and when that isn't returned by your partner.. what's the point? Especially when they desire you to be someone you aren't in return. Always be yourself and stand behind your own values. Your own happiness in life matters so much more than anyone else's after all.
Hope you'll be well, and remember that we're all here for you when needed 🤗 -
I mean, arguably depends on what your identity is. If your identity is as a manipulative abuser of other humans, perhaps it’d be nice if you were perhaps lured into changing in the way those around you wanted you too ...
Still, breakups are hard and realizing that you’ve changed in a way you dislike as the result of someone else.. sucks. -
DjSall15836y@AmyShackles my girlfriend is one and she tries so hard but can't change. It will be the hardest thing ever to leave her, but you have to put yourself first, kids.

Your identity is the most valuable thing you have.
Losing it for whatever reason, for example to be like your partner or your parents want you to be is probably the most wrong thing to do.
