I currently have the best problem ever:
Our client applications and APIs are so fast, users are complaining they don't notice that the UI changed in between the time they clicked a button and their eye drifts to the adjacent component. So now we're having to build visual cues to account for that.

Got devRantron up and running and it's already found a place next to my editor :D
Now if only image uploads were working...6 -
Is it just me OR people on devRant are less cruel than Stackoverflow when someone posts something irrelevant?9

Do you guys have a idea how I can call my new snippet manager application? The application allows you to save code and URLs to view Inside of the application. Also the application is highly customizable supporting 42 coding Languages and over 42 Themes. Currently its named: "SNIPR". But i would like a Name thats not directly connected to the application and what it does. Maybe you guys have some ideas? Because im not that creative😀😀👌
This is a example of the main ui using the dark theme26 -

At my university, we are not allowed to use the internet during exams (duh). But it is disabled using a windows program. I quote from a group chat:
"If you read up a bit, you'll discover that anything works besides Windows"
"Which is basically the story of my life"1 -

But seriously who thought of combining Fedex and the United States Postal Service in a delivery method. Sure it sounds great in theory but from my experience, Fedex has the worst tracking ever and USPS is slow in delivering to business addresses.11 -
I am learning about CI/CD and DevOps, and i finally made my first build/deploy/unit test script.
I use arch btw6 -
While everyone is talking to ducks around here, I'm more of a Samurai person.
Meet Hakuna, the code samurai who slices and dices the latest JS frameworks, and slashes server architecture with a swift, but nifty flick of his plastic sword.
Two companion samurais arriving soon.7 -
TIL, YAML was originally named Yet Another Markup Language and then renamed to YAML Ain’t Markup Language.
Nice.1 -
Switched from Chrome to Vivaldi. Gotta say experience is much more pleasant. Interface is beautiful and customizable to my liking and not such whether I'm imagining it but my laptop battery seems to drain much less2

Just got my class schedule for freshman Computer Science. Find out they teach C++ for Programming 101. Guess I should stop using C for the next couple months and buy a C++ book.

Do you guys ever feel blessed, when u have prepared a script with some mistake and execute it but that script fails due to something completely different, which makes u finally find the mistake and fix it, which saves you from chaos!
The Computer Gods are looking out for me and I am grateful!6 -
I'm trying to make a single page application, thinking to use angular but I've heard some pretty bad things about it, is it that bad? Are there any good alternatives to it?8

Learned about IDEAVim today. Still learning to use it, but I feel that after mastering the commands it's going to boost my productivity.

Not a rant, but a question: I'm currently learning to develop for the web through freecodecamp. They decided some time ago to change their curriculum from Angular to React, kinda moving away from the MEAN set of technologies. Now that Angular 2 is out and looking good, I'm not sure if I should stick to their curriculum or learn it in place of React. What do you guys think?5

If you put a million jokes at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs. -

In Semptember I will be attending information technology at university, and I was wondering what kind of laptop should I buy:
optimal screen size? (13.3 or 15.6)
ram? (for VMs)
processor?
dedicated graphics? (or should I just stick to integrated)
I will be mainly coding, running VMs and school stuff(maybe some casual game like League or Minrcraft), so I was wondering if you guys could help me out with the decision18 -

Not a rant, but has anyone here had any experience developing a StyleGuide?
I'm looking at building one that could document JavaScript and AngularJS as well as CSS etc.
Having a hard time finding a generator/tool that would work.
If not I'll look into building one myself... 😬4
