Can I just say, it'd be nice to down vote something because it's misleading or incorrect.

    What exactly do you mean? Like "misleading" how?

    @TheDane It's an opinion though.

    How can you factually prove an opinion wrong? You can't.

    Add to that "image is a fucking shitty phone photo instead of a screenshot" while we're at it.

    @kamen that's offensive in my eyes lmao

    @TheDane People are often too lazy to capture a proper screenshot and instead snap a photo of their screen, which in my opinion is next to disgusting. That's in an age when a screenshot is usually copied to the system clipboard and you can often paste it directly into an input field.

    @TheDane found the sublime kiddy

    @TheDane can you add things like code completion to nano?

    Incorrect facts can be reported as spam. Since the definition of spam is "unwanted and unsolicited messages"

    @TheDane personally I like that there are vim plugins that open docs when you scroll through completions. I hate having to open web pages for docs when I don't need to

    IMO falls under option 0 or 2

    Not for me

    @Stuxnet someone posted that git is being sold to Microsoft...

    @gitoutofhere That's spam lmao

    @TheDane that would go under "Not for me"
  • 0
    @TheDane Let's call it "a pet peeve".

    @Snob "Not for me" wouldn't necessarily be something wrong or misleading - it might be just a different approach to something you'd do your way. Plus, it might only affect @dfox and whomever else does some moderation - all in all we only see the end ++/-- balance.

    @kamen But it fits perfectly to the problem.. "vim is the best" .... But "not for me"
  • 0
    @Snob That's why you shouldn't confuse "best" with "what I like" or "best for my uses" or "best from what I've tried so far". Yeah, I know I'm too literal sometimes.

    We also need "wrong category" as a reason to encourage downvoting that stuff

    For me it looks like the first option is only to hide the rant from the feed and does not affect the actual ++ count of the rant.

    Here's why I think that:
    *On rant feed, downvote a rant with not for me.
    *Open the rant. See that your downvote was not counted.
    *Go back to rant feed and downvote with offensive/spam.
    *Open the rant again. This time the count went down by one.

    @electrineer that is correct

    @Codex404 I guess I have to offensive/spam that feature. Too facebookey. At least it should be called "Not for me (hide only)".
