Hello everybody! =)

I'm currently looking for a Trello / planning program for Linux that doesn't require an email signup nor requires a monthly payment (I know I R super cheap), since I have way too many tabs open as is and I just need something to help me keep on track with my projects easily and preferably in a visual manner. I would really appreciate any help and/or tips you wonderful guys and gals might have.

What's wrong with email sign up?

@kiru15 Nothing in essence, however; I had a huge and I do mean huge amount of spam coming in recently, besides that I'd rather keep email signups to a minimum so I can keep track where and to whom I handed it out to.

It’s easier to integrate between devices with email, you can create one email for that kind of spam

@devTea Very true; and I have already got a 'shield email' for this exact purpose however; I don't know I just feel a little apprehensive when it comes to handing out emails.

1. Get yourself a 5 minute email, kind of disposable thing.
2. Check for self hosted trello alternatives.

@mt3o I'll give that a looksie, might be the best option either way, although I have limited and I do mean very limited experience with hosting. XD

Github has a great issue tracker/board/project management system and it is completely free. Github definitely has email sign up, but I'm banking on the fact you probably already have a github account.

Why not use the boards/project features in GitHub,VSTS or GitLab they all offer private repositories for free now

@gruff Yeah as Ximidar pointed out, I should've noticed that, for some weird reason I completely overlooked it. Was looking over all the wrong hills and the solution was right in front of me. XD Thank you for pointing it out as well though. =)

I don’t think you’ll find any hosted solution that doesn’t require an email address. Like how else would they verify your registration or handle password resets? Would you be happier with giving them your phone number? I really don’t get it.

Look for kanboard.

Can use for all kinds of tasks. Self hosted so don't have to worry about mail spam etc.

@620hun More along the lines of I don't want to have yet another account hanging out there, I have even the most 'secure' getting pwned and I would rather avoid being vulnerable to something like that, however; I know that and I have set one up ages ago, that you never use your main email, in fact I have several of them just to take all the flack of spam and what-not. But as others have suggested I think that self-hosting and/or using Github might be a solution. =)

Gitkraken glow is pretty good, but it off course requires an email signup. If you have a domain name, then I highly recommend using mailgun or Sendgrid, and making a new address for each thing you sign up for. That way you can also see who's loose-lipped with your information.

@bahua That's a brilliant idea! I usually just assume their database gets raided or something and they just neglect to tell me, but it would be a good safeguard no matter what. :)

I like kanbanflow for features like repeating due dates or multiple due dates (must be in particular column by certain date).

Also just signed up for notion.so a little while ago after someone on here mentioned it. I haven't used it much yet, but I like that it's more than just boards. You can view the same data as a list, board, or calendar, and you can relate items to each other, database style.
