The intuitiveness comes from always having used illustrator, if you'd use this tool more it will become second nature as well.

But it's API is great, I developed a plug-in for WordPress using it which displays wp content inside the prototype

You might want to try Affinity Designer

EDIT: I just realized you are on linux, and not on Mac or Windows. Not sure how well it performs with Wine.
