    C# beating R? Wait a minute...

I guess ML.net has people really excited

@MrCSharp something screams here that this is bogus...

@MrCSharp was gonna say "I don't know a lot about ML, but isn't R like a top language?"

Typescript is a (pretty popular) JavaScript Superset... so.. why not?

    @thoxx for machine learning? JavaScript?
  • 3
I think the order is wrong

@Stuxnet it definitely is a top language for data science and machine learning. Even Azure ml studio has an option to export R modules of any ML model you build.

If this turns out to be true, ML.net definitely has C#ers excited on GitHub and involved in ML more.

@gitoutofhere yes google introduced that last year with tensorflow.js

    https://js.tensorflow.org/

@heyheni holy damn... But like how is js so popular for data analysis? Like I rarely hear or see it anywhere

@gitoutofhere i dont know but i can imagine it's pretty usefull for client side content aware automatic croping and taging images. Surely saves some money to do the heavy lifting on client side instead on some beefy servers.

*top languages with a binding to a c/c++ machine learning library

Wait till you see html up there😂

There is this abomination called tensorflow.js, I'm afraid it's referring to it.

About JS being in the top.. Probably for some sort of ETL pipes.

@Stuxnet R is used by data scientists, analyst, and statisticians mainly for statistics and data transformation/manipulation.

Naturally, since it got a lot of great statistics packages it can complement ML quite nicely.
However in its base its about statistics and not ML.

    What's your problem with TypeScript?

    Python as a "Language" whaaaat?

@Charon92 the coding train videos on tensorflow.js are kinda neat.
    https://youtube.com/playlist/...

i mean tensorflow in the browser opens a whole new set of creative possiblities. That are not even thought about today.
I wonder what happens if tensorflow uses WebAssembly. That seems like the future.
