Sooo I was wondering what you guys listen to while coding?
I mostly listen to instrumentals, feel like anything that has words can sometimes be distracting.
Was thinking of listening to audio books though lol. don't know how it'll go XD.
What do you think?

    It depends on personal preferences.

    @leduyquang753 that's why I asked what do you listen to XD

    @2erXre5 don't have that luxury unfortunately :/ student life and all.
    ever sat in a noisy library?

    The sound of silence (preferably but rarely)

    @Admin-who Noisy library? Sounds a bit like a contradiction.

    What I've listened to while coding:
    - Irish folk
    - Rock
    - Radio

    @sbiewald yeah my college's library is a fucking mess. but that's a rant on it's own.

    Audio books or podcasts is a nogo for me. I once did that and when the book was finished I didnt even know the name of the main character...

    I listen everything, from Vivaldi to Bob Marley and De Dijk (dutch band) to Slayer

    Most of the time, I'm listening to space ambient playlists, or natural relaxation musics. But I'd like to try some more fast-paced music when I'm more at ease with the language I code with. In my uni year, I just wanted to stay onto some more sure values, so the former.

    @KuroTenshi67
    the glitch mob is my go to for fast paced music. but I mostly listen to ambient stuff nowadays

    Someone should scrape all these repost threads and collect the data to a devrant playlist

    I've been on a reggae kick lately.

    Y'all should check out carbon based lifeforms, they make me feel like I'm on a different planet. They're also both frontend developers I heard. I also love Tycho!
    Ok, shameless plug here: I'm working on some instrumental electronic stuff https://soundcloud.com/ahmad-moussa...

    @electrineer that would be one heck of a playlist

    @Mosesrocks okay for real. Atterissage2.0 is the only thing I'm probably going to listen to today. would love a 10 hour version of that lol. amazing stuff though. keep it up.

    @Admin-who Thanks man! Funny story about that track actually. That was the first track that I had the courage to make again after my hard drive failed and I lost all of my stuff on my previous laptop. Lesson learned, always backup your stuff, cuz hard drive failure is inevitable!

    @Mosesrocks always backup.
    always backup twice. just got payed for the last 3 months of work lol, ginna spend a good chunk on buying a new hdd for regular usage and 2 for backups.
  • 2
    reason I say back up twice is that I had a HDD in my pc and it failed. then the external hard drive fell and got corrupted 🤦🏻‍♂️ so now I backup on two external hard drives. even though it's more of a hassle but better than losing your data.

    @Admin-who Yea, better safe than sorry!
  • 2
    @rEaL-jAsE lol. would distract the fuck out of me while coding.

    @Admin-who Sometimes I listen to amon amarth or other really heavy metal, I usually can't tell what the heck they're singing about, but it really gives you an adrenaline rush haha. Or maybe songs in a different language, then you wouldn't have to focus on the lyrics lol

    Podcasts are my go-to as long as the podcast is about something that gets me thinking. Once my brain starts going I find that coding becomes a little easier for some reason.

    Sythwave, Retrowave, Outrun.
    Soothing chill music with no annoying lyrics to distract me.

    @jcaputo nice gonna try that out. any recommendations?

    @M1sf3t I like the song, but not when coding, then I like it literally :)
