Resigned? I doubt it. My bet is he was kicked off the board for his kinky rides at mit.
@vane it's not mit. It's Stallman. -
vane112805y@theKarlisK I hope they get linux kernel under control and introduce closed source drm code there and “enterprise edition”.
Also hope that will happen after I’m 50 and just don’t care and laugh from it. -
Elendil3635yMan this whole ordeal is such a shitshow, i had no idea he resigned from the FSF as well...
Its sad to see him ousted from the foundation he created, i understand MIT firing him but this seems a bit much...
That said RMS brought this onto himself, he should really learn to keep some opinions to himself: he's always been a weirdo, but its far better for everyone if he sticks to talking exclusevy about software. -
@Linux Look I don't give two flying fucks about this tinfoil hat dude, I'm just telling him what literally every single new site said.
-
@Stuxnet he was not defending Epstein tho, he was defending Marvin Minsky. Still, Stallman is not only a Tinfoil wearing weirdo, he is a weirdo with weird opinions about sex. Up until just recently he detracted his statements regarding consensual sex between adults and ....children. the dude was just so fucking weird and icky it is so easy to see why peoppe would think he was in favor of Epstein. Apparently, one of Epstein's victims was forced into having sex with Marvin Minsky. Stallman defended Minsky by stating that the girl was entirely willing or that Minsky was not aware that she was being forced into it.

I do know what to say: never expect non weird shit by people that go into conferences in sandals and pick shit from their feet and eat it.
Stallman was WEIRD. Dude is a genius and we owe him for GNU but the dude is as WEIRD as it gets -
@AleCx04 This is exactly what he said:
“We can imagine many scenarios, but the most plausible scenario is that she presented herself to him as entirely willing. Assuming she was being coerced by Epstein, he would have had every reason to tell her to conceal that from most of his associates.”
In other words, Stallman here is saying that Epstein could have coerced the victim into pretending to be willing, not that she actually was.
In fact, the whole Minsky story seems a bit sketchy. I'll link to this Slashdot comment that explains it well:

@nonox @ethernetzero i am not saying the dude is bad because he is weird. I am just saying that he is weird and because of that weird statements have been said by him in the past. He did say at one point that he does not see a problem with children(as defined by state law) should be allowed to have sexual relations with adults(also as defined by state law) would the sexual interaction be of consent. He later rectified and draw the statement once it was explained to him how this is royally fucked up. My point is, an individual that was criticized by that shit in the past should have just stayed quiet.
"Marvin Minsky is a good person that would never do harm willingly" could have been the only thing he should have said since I understand sticking out for your peers if you want to. And I really hope Minsky was not of the pedo-rapey type -
@AleCx04 Yeah, I just wanted to clarify what RMS said, to build upon your comment. 🙂
I dont know what to say
