Those bright lights should be illegal.

I don't find it all that ugly but also not pretty. Imho the shape is a bit too simple, it could look a lot better with a few more edges at the right places.

Looks more like a spaceship with wheels
  • 3
It looks shite. I don't know how this got past the designers, engineers, managers, execs and the god knows who else in the corporate chain. How was this approved?
  • 4
Personally, I think it's quite possibly the ugliest piece of shit I have seen on wheels

    @delegate212
Because Elon did it for the memes?!

Well, maybe there's a huge difference in people....

    Some go for the looks

    Some go for functionality....

Now that said - it's by no mean a perfect looking thing but... Imagine that it's a tool... Like.... Builders tool. Yeah, you heard me right - what if I work in a construction site and want a durable truck? Isn't this a perfect fit? Seriously, if it can't be dented easilly, no plastic parts to crack - that's a lifesaver. Not to mention - washing it is just so simple... Like it's a plain side. No curves, bumps - nothing....

Then again, people asked for safety and shit - well, this was a prototype... it's by no mean the final product.... They will change it but after all - truck has to be tough + have good specs. If tesla hits all of them - who cares how it looks? Especially if it's just a tool to get the job done....

ps. Remember all the hillarious videos when X random thing broke glass. If they prevent that - awesome.

    How is this dev related?
  • 6
@kamen Very simple: developers -> internet -> paypal -> elon musk -> tesla -> truck.
  • 5
@kamen Because imagine if all cars looked like this - how much FPS we would have in games! No stupid details, nothing, just good old triangles :D

@bioDan The Asp Explorer in Elite Dangerous has a similar style but is simply better-looking.

I don't know why so many people dislike it.
    It's fucking beautiful

I don’t like it. I mean- it’s not super bad but also not nice.
  • 2
@Ranchu Looks don't even matter that much though. For people who need a truck or camping vehicle, it seems quite good.

I'm planning on doing a drive all around Norway in a few years, would love to rent this truck for 6 weeks. Plenty of superchargers all over the place there. I hope they'll make the back cover in such a way that you can put a sleeping mattress in the truckbed without suffocating under it... maybe add a small fridge & electric cooking plate.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if they made a camping van version (like a "stationwagon" version of the truck) -- would be especially nice with a solar roof.

It doesn't matter if it looks bad or not, its supposed to look "different" for marketing purposes. That's why car companies made the electric cars look absolutely fucking shite in order to compete with Tesla. Tesla on their hand played their "it doesn't look like an electric car" hand and the others followed suit by playing the "it looks different" hand.

Needless to say, Tesla is now playing the "it looks different" hand on the pickup truck market.

Maybe it has finished rendering yet?

@delegate212 the owner of the company said "fk all of u i like it"

It looks like the warthog from halo 1 but with worse graphics

@ultimaterage indeed, Fiat Multipla got a competitor.

This is what happens when you smoke weed and binge watch star wars

This is what everyone thought the future was like in in the 80'.
  • 0
@bittersweet yes a camping thingy would be cool
  • 2
While this is probably invisible to radar, I wish it were invisible to the naked eye as well. The Fiat Multipla has finally met its match in ugliness.

No way. This looks like shit. The real love is mustang gt

I think Elon Musk looked at some concept images and saw how ugly they looked (like the one I attached), so they went back and redesigned it. I love how fucking utterly wrong the designers were on literally all the things.
  • 1
@theuser Not really. Elon realized that the best way to save costs is to avoid any curved part and making it from stainless steel, allowing them to skip two of the most expensive steps in production.

I don't even want to know how much more curved glass costs.

@potata Builders tool it is. Cybertruck does look decent, though I could care less about how it looks
