You could have just disable automatic Windows update and just do update when you have time in your schedule.

PS : I also like Linux.

@mr-user It's less about when the updates happen and more about the fallout I seem to have after each one.

I have done Window update before which slows the computer down so much that I have to upgrade it with new hardware.
