Textfiles or as a clipboard of text snips where I want text only (formatting gone), or short scripts. The search and replace bit is also quite useful.

Certain files yes, npp is still a viable choice, you can also format text and copy it with formatting, which I'll use in some release documents

Yes. It's still so good and i love how it is able to predict text based on text already in a file.

I do, but not for coding. It's a great way to open just about any file.

In the wild west days as a fresh faced web developer, I worked in a team of five where we all used Notepad++ and the FTP plugin to deploy. Who needs version control when you can just continually overwrite each others changes?

As a place to dump text then yeah, absolutely.

I use it to see if there any updates to it.

There are many better editors now, but I still like having it. Always have liked the little green chameleon on the pencil.

I still used it this morning just for quick edit of a side file...my atom is too precious to welcome intrusions.
