After reading this post I'm like what's next ? No fukin iPhones in the box just $999 for a satisfying unboxing experience

    Some of those crazy iPhone users would buy a $999 box that's just a sticker with a logo in the box.

    No charger makes sense since Apple is allegedly R&D'ing a portless phone.

    The iphone SE is the cheapest iPhone in 5 years and is competitive with if not flat out cheaper than quality android phones. Are you mad about that too? Or is it simply that Apple has things that are expensive that you can’t sleep at night just knowing that?

    I have an idea: how about wait and see what the next few years bring rather than groping at any rumor that confirms your anti Apple bias.

    Phone prices are bonkers all around.

    I'm happy with my Pixel 3a price and performance.

    Was happy to see Apple offer a lower prices phone too.

    If you asked me i never would have expected many people would pay 1k for a phone but they do...

    @bingJunior Man this is damn on point

    @FrodoSwaggins The SE is the only reason I'm going back to iOS. It's literally their only competitive phone. The rest are just expensive jewellery.

    @odite iOS coder here, my phone is a refurbished iPhone 6s I bought 3+ years ago. Cannot agree more w/ you.

    I kind of agree w/ their decision: the target customer will probably already own a few chargers already, they might not need a Nth one.
    That’s less electronic waste.
    (I do hope they’ll provide the charging *cable* though, those tend to breakup easily)

    Let'em do the right thing and milk the sheep.

    @zlot can't agree more with you but if we dig deeper what about the people buying an iPhone for the first time. Definitely they have to buy a charger and we all know that ain't cheap. So overall a brilliant marketing strategy

    @bingJunior Thus the « *kind of* agree » in my comment ;)

    @FrodoSwaggins How much is the cheapest iphone?

    @zlot Especially Apple cables tend to break a lot. Year ago got company MacBook pro, and cables end is in S shape, don't have done anything weird or anything to it but slowly going more S shape.

    Around same time workmate got also MacBook pro and same problem.

    @odite and yet you’re doing that apparently. I don’t understand your argument.

    @Gregozor2121 400, I bet you could get it cheaper.

    @FrodoSwaggins so what if the unlikely event happens where I will switch over to the new iPhone? Then I will have to buy the charger and cable separately for around 50€ on top of my already expensive phone.

    You what? They could literally make the iPhone 50 bucks cheaper and not include the the charger plus cable and offer the bundle for the same price it currently has sells. People would still complain because they always do. The ones that already have the charger and cable can buy it for cheaper and if you don't then you can get the bundle for the normal price.

    But nah Apple is Apple. That would be 50 bucks they won't get for free.

    @fuckwit I’ll go back to my original point. To this day no iPhone has shipped without a charger. This is a RUMOR. We could wait and see what happens instead of assuming any anti apple propaganda that reinforces our bias is true. The might include chargers with everything, or some other arrangement that doesn’t seem so bad.

    So much Apple hate is based on things Apple never even did. This is a pristine example.

    @FrodoSwaggins if they go with usb like everyone else then it makes sense not to include a charger since they can be shared by multiple devices. (And if you don't have one there are lots of high quality and reasonably priced ones you can buy (+ a bunch of virtually free fire hazards if you prefer that)

    Most people who buy a new iPhone likely already have the charger that would come in the box.

    Most people who would need a new charger would buy a third party charger and keep the boxed one in the box.

    It’s reducing e-waste, so what’s the point here?

    @FrodoSwaggins hahahaha
    mine is 200

    @Gregozor2121 I heard a rumor that it actually was 500, you lose~~ ;)
