    Nope, please hold while I add more lollies, cake, ice cream and vodka to my waist line.

    I'm in stage 4 lockdowns, fuck you and your "healthy" living standards.

    WOOOO!! If anyone feels extremely energetic I will be at the gym half the time, running outdoors a fourth of the time and reading a book on Scala the rest of the time. Feel free to join me on any of those! 🤭😂✌️

    @M1sf3t naw my dude. Mine is called "Scala for the Impatient" by C. Horstmann. I saw the title, felt it in my soul and decided to go for it, as I am indeed impatient as fuck.

    @M1sf3t I've only read the first two chapters but so far I like it. I'm familiar with functional programming from F# though so I don't know how it feels to read it if you don't know the paradigm at all.

    @M1sf3t you're a smart cookie, you'll pick it up fast. If I could learn then so can you 😂

    Ha, jogging. Spoken like a young person who still has knees. *takes the bike*

    @SortOfTested my knees started to creak after all that fixed gear obsession. Take a normal bike please

    @uyouthe
    I mean, I knew that already 😝 a nice gearset and some pedal spacers got me covered.
  • 0
    @SortOfTested you ride fixies?
  • 2
    @uyouthe
    I rode a lot of things over the years. I still have a flip flop in the garage. Seattle though, you don't fixed gear. Every turn and both ends of my street are between 18 and 23% grade.

    My driveway is 15% 😆

    @SortOfTested macaframa did really great fixie showoff in Seattle

    @uyouthe
    They all young af too. They'll learn 😝

    The don't call where I live "The Hill" for nothing. I can train 700' of elevation in an hour without leaving a 2 mile radius of my home

    @SortOfTested it’s just like SF

    @uyouthe
    Little different. I've lived there as well. I would not want to ride a bike there. Didn't until I was out in the east bay.

    @M1sf3t

    That's just MS, tho

    Also, in regards to js fp. Man the wars I've had with that and trying to encode even basic principles properly. Their arrays make me angry, and that's before discussion any and all lack of official generators:

    @M1sf3t

    I suppose the bright side is scala isn't the most FP-rigorous language around. It lacks certain features that would get it there, and most of those should be resolved with time (sum/union types, f/e).

    Still, it's my favorite JVM lang after clojure.
