I pity those poor guys who will beta test new consoles for the first year. Every generation fails at first revision. Every damn generation of Xbox and PlayStation has some major issues in the first revision of new consoles.

Pre-ordering, and release-with-limited-supply ordering are both cancer. You're way better off buying about 3 months after release.

I bought my current motherboard/CPU during the Ryzen 1 launch. The result was basically a fulltime job for a week, just to figure out compatibility issues, firmware upgrades, waiting in webchats and phone helpdesks, going through shop return/repair procedures, buying packaging material & postage for returns, being home for deliveries/pickups, etc.

It did mean that I started out with a Ryzen 5 1600, and ended up with a free upgrade to Ryzen 7 1800X, and got three sets of 32GB memory for free because the shop couldn't figure out the exact problems either.

To this day, I still can not shut down my PC without also flipping the hardware power switch on my PSU, because something is wrong with the power states.

Anyway, all I'm saying is, just celebrate Christmas in January with your Xbox/PS5/RTX card.
