In my opinion, quality of wines isn't as determined by country/region as it is by year/farm.

But in terms of abused grapes I like port & cognac better anyway.

@Linux Rum, whiskey and whathaveye is for cold winter days. A good white wine, be it french or not, is refreshing. A good red wine is the perfect autumn drink, gradual transition to the hard winter liqueur
