It would suggest to me that they feel you're technically capable but perhaps not the best personality for either a team context or a customer context.

philcr30548y@samk I was thinking the same to be honest but apparently it only came up in comparison of me to the other candidate and they had to scrape the barrel, it did make me wonder though

Just had another thought. The other candidate could be a friend or associate who more or less already had the job and they're looking for a suitable excuse not to give it to you - for HR/legal reasons.
