I need some help from you guys. I'm in search of a cheap, little webhoster for classic and (hopefully) node projects. Is there something viable out there, I missed on my research?

Google Cloud or Linode

Lots of (AWS, Google) cloud providers have free tiers. Try that first for your pet projects.

Heroku is free for small under development apps. And it's container oriented, so no need to setup a Linux node or anything

I've worked with openshift and heroku so far, and both have free tiers that are great for development andcare easy to setup.

Been working with webfaction for about 2 years, could not be happier with their service and support.

AWS is just amazing, the pricing is ridiculously unbelievable and no need to say it can scale up to some crazy stuff like Instagram or the Amazon itself.
maybe not as straightforward as Heroku or Openshift at first, but it'll pay off in the long run...

@pinebit really nice price, but you don't have SSH access to the server, do you? Like, it's not ec2, it's just s3 storage with DNS setup, right?

@lucas22 right, but this works well for "hobby" projects. For Business there are better yet pricy options.
