Depends on the company, 0.5s is huge! If your load time is 5s, that's a 10% improvement.

The page i am fixing now has an average load time of 8.3s, with 88server requests in main page.

I hate the guy who wrote this shit! It's so fucking confusing to even understand, let alone fix! -
I had a page that was taking 5 seconds or so and had like 5MB of images. I reduced the image compression from 100% to 80% with no easily discernible difference. It went to like 1 second or less loading.
