I actually found a 3060 for about 590 eur (meanwhile prices are 1000-1200 eur) but my order was cancelled since it was sold out. Probably immediately...

cryptominers are not really the problem. They already exist for quite a while, that's not a new concept. So GPU Manufacturers had the opportunity to adapt for years now.

The other problem is the ongoing chip shortage, where the GPU Manufacturers are not at fault for.

Well, it is a little bit. They mispredicted what the demand would be during quarantine. (The auto industry made the same mistake.) Because of this, they didn’t (and still can’t) get enough chips produced to ramp up production to meet the unexpected demand.

There is also a shortage of workers due to covid, a shortage of viable silicon-bearing sand, and logistics issues to boot. All of these exacerbate the problem.

Don't think much about it...
Think if Nvidia tries to buy amd again... Or if amd goes bankrump.
Nvidia will be like pizza hut in Demolition Man.
