Just another way to trash our older PCs. Planned obsolescence.

@saas win10 had major updates every half a year 🙃 including the recent one with that weather thingie in the task bar

I think this "Windows 10 will be forever" was just one guy speaking too soon; or even if that's not the case, it was what they were planning 5-6 years ago.

@Floydimus almost all of them, actually. Most updates don't even cause reboots for me.

@kamen it was mostly a trick to get people to update from Windows 7 when they were just about to finish migrating from xp. "If you do this now, you'll never have to do it again"

It was win 10 forever because they planned on killing off a major portion of the population. So for quite a few people it was the "last" version of windows. Their last version. I just figured that the Windows 11 update was too soon. Should of waited for the vaccines to euthanize more people.

Woot Microsoft making false promises? Who would have thought!

Recalling, just about every product with features marketed right until the actual product arrives and over half does not make it. The browser that doesn't suck campaign, combined with browser that is more html5 compatible than any other campaign (God knows why they didn't get fined for that one).

Windows division needs to print more money as store and shenanigans do not bring enough income. To be fair rather rather see new paid version every other year than crapping it up for "free"

Our economical system requires companies to always gain more than the last year. Whenever they claim you will save money (e.g w10 Is going to be the last release/pixel storage is unlimited forever/ our prices will never change/ etc…) always distrust it. It is not A company, it is the very nature of the system.

@iiii for logical being? Yes. For delusional economists? Nah man, tech will find a way and will also invent stuff to cover the pollution we are making
