Hot take: Windows 11 is just to enable them to bake Teams into the OS like they did with IE.

They gotta get sued and split up this time! Their "Facetime" is skype and they had it preinstalled. Don't compare a business messenger to a private video chat platform!

I don't use slack, but they obviously wan't to win agains them by just making it part of the OS. This can't be legal!

They are already dropping "install teams now" into the W10 notifs, I had to get passed a blue screen setup on last boot to not purchase office 365 and then it had the balls to try and add Office shortcuts to the start menu anyway.

What's the status of Skype these days? Are the just going to dump it for "Teams". Looking forward to adding my family members as "Team members"

@molaram thanks, maybe that's how they'll kill it off. Keep making it worse and/or break it more and more until we just give up.

1- Windows always came with a chat/call client preinstaled (at least since xp)
2- Teams it's also for personal use
3- mac os, ios, android, chrome os comes with a chat client and browser preinstalled

@dontbeevil Sorry, I just had to. Don't know why 🤷🏻‍♂️

They want your data to turn you into the government agencies. That is why Win11 is forcing microsoft accounts now.

@Demolishun because mac os, ios, android and chrome os don't
  • 2
@dontbeevil They are all equally shitty, yes.
  • 1
Wait... Doesn't like the entirety of the iOS way of doing things do this but much worse?

@Tonnoman The term "worse" has no meaning when comparing Applefuck and Microshit. Both are the evil that has been described in tons of cyberpunk stories before. People pay for being enslaved and worship fucks like Cook or Nadella, so they don't deserve any better.

@grumpyoldfart There is still a huge differnece between "bsuiness*" and "personal". While startups or small comanies may use personal stuff, anthing bigger will only use anything selling as businsess and bigger.

And M$ is.l clearly aiming for "business". Personal is still Sype.

@LinusCDE true, I don't see much use of Teams in personal communications, but I experienced three enterprises migrating from Skype to Teams during the last year and everything got worse. Partly for security reasons which are mostly not Teams' fault, admitted, partly for stupid old Skype features like proper screen scaling when sharing that Teams still doesn't get right. Also, every dumbfuck in the company who feels not enough recognition opens a Teams channel and barfs his irrelevant shit upon the world. Teams destroyed a good working mailing list infrastructure wherever I met it and I hope it's inventor and all of its developers die a cruel death.

So your colleagues doesn't know how to use Teams... Let's blame Teams, nakes sense
