Better with mobile device
Link is unique for each meme so you can share
Can download content

Please enjoy the memes I collected over the year and let me know any suggestions you have

Checkout let's encrypt for a free ssl certificate, allows you to do https. Otherwise browsers complain.

Otherwise kinda like it. Style wise it's very web 2.0, 2000's, but my HTML/CSS is terrible, so I'm not going to judge.

You're using digital ocean for hosting, iirc they give reasonable data allowances. You could also use cloudflare as dns (they can also do free https, but is complicated). You can also in theory store images on cloudflare, or a static site.

    😂😂😂😂
This pretty much sums it up.

Oh and yea depending on where your hosting this, find a SSL cert.

Free one is certbot which is easy to install and setup if this is self hosted.

These are some solid memes my dude!

@iSwimInTheC hand picked every one of them by myself

@atheist @C0D4 it is done, now the connection is secured, but having some issues with api calls, give me some time to fix this

    @K-ASS 😎

It looks better already, well besides the broken memes.

@C0D4 yeah it’s because my api calls are directed to an IP address, I will need to get secure connection for that too which is more work than I expected

@C0D4 it’s done, had to do reverse proxy, learned new things today

Very nice website, browsing it atm

@matt-jd I can tell from the backend log, somebody is definitely browsing

Hey, on mobile, the scroll box for the description is really small, like there is a lot of space left unused while the description is kinda awkwardly cut off

meme downloading is a little broken, it works sometimes but not others
  • 1
@meowlikethunder for gif and video it just takes long, the way the download so far works is it fetches the entire thing then return to you as a file instead of steaming the download

The layout and colors could definitely see some pretty solid improvement but overall I enjoy the site

@AlgoRythm yeah I’m really not good with front end
  • 0
@Tonnoman maybe I can decrease font size? The height is fixed to I think 20 vh and I don’t want to touch that
  • 1
@K-ASS The "not good at front end". I feel a bond with you my friend.
  • 2
@atheist I once wanted to take a hci(presumably will also improve my front end skill) class, and my friend urged me not to because and I quote “human computer interaction requires you to be human”

@K-ASS I did HCI! At least one module. We used scetches done in some drawing app, then compared the merits of different approaches and how they related to stuff like intuitiveness, colorblind mode, etc.

Was kinda dull. It was a group project, and so the main thing I learnt was that I hate people.

@atheist yeah that’s why it’s hard to get a front end designer nowadays, people just hate people
