Anyone else like coding while high? A lot of the time it gives me a different, more simple, point of view of my problem which helps me find a solution a good amount of the time

    I would love to try. Never been high in my life.

    Well I don't do illegal drugs. But honestly I often code whilst drinking a bit. It's nice and I actually make more progress.

    Yeah, gives me tunnel vision and I can work on something for hours, but it’s not always the best code to come back to and not remembering writing half of it can be a pain.

    One thought I had while high as fuck is that code is also data; a stream of bytes interpreted in one way or another to give it meaning and function.

    I dunno if that's 100% correct but that's reefer for you. It brings utterly base, fundamental and mundane things that you don't usually think about right into the forefront of your attention, and makes them seem absolutely fascinating. Well, at least for me it does that.

    Now, I usually like it better for sitting back and philosophizing, *then* I can use those high ideas to get actual work done. I may draw charts, write some pseudo code, things of that nature, but actual working code not so often.

    That being said, a big chunk of my codebase exists solely because I was stoned out of my fucking mind.

    Yea, I agree

    @Ranchonyx personally if I drink I can’t code

    @inawhile A stream of bytes is meaningless with out context.

    @inawhile A stream of bytes is really interesting when it can have multiple contexts, such as stenography.

    It used to help me sometimes, but went TOO high the last time so I totally stopped

    @Tounai Not high, but sleep deprived enough to read "TOO" as an acronym (T.O.O) and wonder if it's the new TDD or something, lol.

    If you smoke weed and study you can get highly educated 😉

    @hanieh-m Test Oriented Organization. You'll see it's the future of Software engineering

    I've already read that being tired while coding help focusing on one thing only.

    Back in Uni, I managed to finish off a project whilst drunk. The next day I had no recollection of going on the computer - a happy surprise when I switched it on to finish the work - to find it already completed and working perfectly :D

    @rutee07 Same, but sadly here its worst to take drugs than commit mass murder.

    Not often anymore. It can be both good and bad.
