How to kill a lot of Linux users in one go without being accused of murder:

1) Write on social media "which is the best Linux distro and why?"
2) Watch them fight and kill each other
3) Profit

haha welcome. but naw linux is a brotherhood, we all have our opinions and our preferred distro but we wouldn't kill eachother over a distro choice.

@runfrodorun ehh we have better targets like windows users after that we can target the rich kids of osx

Strangely enough, I use Lubuntu. Coz' I have a laptop and it helps me save a lot of battery life. Will switch soon enough though, but don't know which one.

@runfrodorun But systemd is so much better... *Insert arguments here*

@runfrodorun i actually like the philosophy behind systemd and it's integrity checks. While it makes implementing your own services a lot more difficult, it does give you the advantage as a system administrator to have a very good control over your system. Also it is harder to have a system in an inconsistent state. This is for me a big plus.

The usage of unit types and it's granular control make it a good successor of SysV imho.

@runfrodorun first of all... wauw dude, this is a proper rant spanning more then two post! Have an upvote!

To be honest i havent delved deep inside the inner workings and /pol/ on systemd, since i am only concerned about system stability and flexibility, which imv systemD offers.
Therefore i am not familiar with the issues about logind.

Now you piqued my interest, what's your base disto and how much do you mod it? Also, is that manageable? Is it also manageable for x hosts where x >= 1 ?

If it works well, don't fix it is my motto on this one.

@ironedr years of linux usage. given enough time with linux you start learning how to diagnose and fix problems from a simple message.

@runfrodorun I agree on systemd's problem. don't know why they didn't stick to the linux way of doing one thing and doing it well
