    I've got a colleague that does that... They literally mash the keyboard and then commit!!!

    E.g fixed some things and added stuff

    Policy: uncommented commits will be rolled back. ;-)

    or copy paste the same message. "fixed some bugs". and we should guess what they are.

    I work solo and sometimes I don't give a fuck and do:

    gc -a -m "wip"

    (work in progress)

    Can you not just reject the merge (assuming you do reviews and merging)?

    One of my colleague always write commit message is "Bugfix". I asked him why. He said commit messages are very hard to write.
