As a student trying to find an internship for a software engineering position, my subpar transcript being brought up during the interview always has me like:

Interviewer: "Why is your GPA so shit???"
Me: "Fuck you that's why!"

😤😥

Haha, that's the best answer, and the one I'd use myself.

Random number calls: Hello, this is X from Y company and I noticed that you left your GPA blank on accident. Can you provide that please so I can get this interview scheduled?
Me: No, My GPA doesn't define me. Good luck finding a candidate.

It is hard to tell someone that you fought hard for your 2.1 so you could barely graduate.

@jagalbraith GPA is the one thing that brings me down all the time T_T

We hardly get asked about our GPA here. If you can solve a given task effective, you are hired.

    "There are no accidents"

I thought they didn't care about the GPA...
Does this mean I have to work harder???
This pisses me off because the only courses that bring my GPA down are other courses we have to take as a requirement (eg. English, Chemistry, Physics), even tho my COSC courses are in the 90 range

@agentwolf44 You are spot on. I don't give a shit about greek history and underwater basket weaving. I considered altering the TLDR algorythm on Stack Overflow to write APA or MLA papers if you feed it sources and a thesis paragraph. If you drop all the unrelated courses from my GPA I have a solid 3.8. Add in all the crap I don't care about and it is a fighting 2.1. The English and History classes seem to be mindless busy work of wordy discussion posts and bullshit papers. All because the want us to be "well rounded" in our education. You know, lets make the paper generator as a big F you to colleges.
