@TheLazyGoan We had this client who wasn't paying his 10k left over payment for the past 2 years. The website was famous and getting good traffic. We did send many reminders. So one day we gave final warning COB to make the payment or next day website will be suspended and that's what I did next day. Client came in after lunch to make full payment.

@PoweredByCoffee damn that's an interesting way. I usually collect half the payment after the first iteration before incorporating their changes and then once everything is done hand them the files only after the full payment

@theactionslacks ive heard of bring paid by equity, but I dont trust it, normally its linked to do many things, that if you get fired, or leave, or anything other myriad of possible problems, you can be left empty handed, its basically the same as promising to pay you later, unless ive missed something

I dislike dealing with the business side of being a developer, so I try to be super clear in advance about my demands.
If it's a product I can believe in and the startup is still acquiring funding, I'm fine with a leaner contract, but still, no contract, no deal. -
f03n1x65808yI think I might end up doing something a long the lines if job hunting doesn't prove any results, but do some encryption of specific code that makes half the app work that will given upon payment lol

Them: So you're familiar with Android?
Me: Yes but it's been a while, will take some time though.
Them: Not a problem.
Me: So shall we talk about the payment?
Them: Yeah, about that.. Listen, we don't have any funding now but we're sure this idea will be a hit and take off, then later we can pay you.
Me: Ok
