EXCEL YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT! don't get me wrong, it's usefull and kt works, usually... Buckle up, your i for a ride. SO HERE WE FUCKING GO: TRANSLATED FORMULA NAMES? SUCKS BUT MANAGABLE. WHATS REALLY FUCKED UP IS HTHE GERMAN VERSION!
DID YOU HEAR ABOUT .csv? It stands for MOTHERFUCKING COMMA SEPERATED VALUES! GUESS WHAT SOME GENIUS AT MICROSOFT FIGURED? Hey guys let's use a FUCKING SEMICOLON INSTEAD OF A COMMA IN THE GERMAN VERSION! LET'S JUST FUCK EVERY ONE EXPORTING ANY DATA FROM ANY WEBSITE!

The workaround is to go to your computer settings, YOU CAN'T FUCKING ADJUST THIS IN EXCEL!, change the language of the OS to English, open the file and change it back to German. I mean, come on guys, what is this shit?

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON ENCODING! äöü and that stuff usually works, but in Switzerland we also use French stuff, that then usually breaks the encoding for Excel if the OS language is set to German (both on Windows and Mac, at least they are consistent...)

To whoever approved, implemented or tested it: FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID SHITFUCK, with love: me

Reminds me of my adventures with Visio some time ago:

If Windows is set to "German (Austria)" Visio will run in English because it only knows "German (Germany)", "German (Switzerland)" and "German (Luxemburg)".
And of course there's no manual setting, so you either deal with it or change the OS language.

@fschaupp didn't know there are multiple languages in Austria as well. Is it like the Grischun in Switzerland (Rätoromanisch auf Deutsch), that is just spoken in a small part of the country?

I feel your pain man ๐Ÿ˜ข

The danish version also does that shit with semicolons...
I have an idea why that is tho ๐Ÿค”
In Denmark we use commas to separate whole and decimal numbers, where americans use the dot, so I guess it's because of that ๐Ÿ˜
Even tho the csv standard supports encasing the values in "... ๐Ÿ˜

@Folkmann that could be. But then on the other hand if I enter in Excel `=1.23*2` it outputs 2.46, while when I enter `=1,23*2` it outputs `#WERT!` which translates to `#VALUE!`, so a input format error.

Who in the love of god puts his windows other than english. I swear to freaking god is like asking:"5 million global it guys who can help with this problem? Lets reduce it to 5000 because i cant freaking learn a international language".

IT should have an international language and be done with this shit.

@curlyDev I run Linux on my machine and libre office explicitly ask you, what delimiter you'd like to use, so no problem for me, but for all the other, people in the office, the muggles, asking me to open those files for them and send it to them as excel (ended up to just use semicolons while generating csv, if the current website language is set to German)
