How about I bang your mom instead?! Huh?!

I wouldn't. Doesn't matter whether you are a bot or not.
  • 3
    Why would you ask that?

@magicMirror asked a follow-up question, this at least shows if you're one of those *better* bots

    @scor
One of the "AI" strategies (ie, pass the turing test) was to answer every question with a question.
Easy to prove you are talking to a bot, by using a meta question.
    like:
    "Why?"

@Nanos As I remember it, the idea was to program automated psycoanalisis expert.
    example:
"I have a pain in my leg! its bleeding!"
"why do you thing you have a pain i. your leg?"
repeat for any input, until parents are mentioned.

    I would pose a theory-of-mind question.

Because typically when most people talk about sentience, generally what they are really refering to is either:

    a. the ability to comprehend and perform simple tasks to instruction

    b. to understand what the operators *actual* or *full* intention or state of mind is.

In the former case, you have robotic workers.

In the latter case you have automated strategists, therapists, corporate negotiators, political campaign managers, team leaders or at least HR managers, and a host of other complex tasks that involve understanding people's "full" meaning, intent, state of mind, goals, motives, and the ability to prioritize, smoothly interact at the social, political, and economic level, prioritize, weigh trade offs, convince others, work out differences, and compromise.

Category A will destroy and transform the world's economy for sure.

But Category B will have as much a fundamental change on civilization as fire and the wheel.
