Ever got confused where to find settings for desktop app?

File -> Settings
Edit -> Preferences
Tools -> Options

    i've seen some software that had all three, each leading to a different set of settings =D

    File settings makes sense if they are actually just the settings for the file. Edit preferences already comes in weird territory as items in the edit menu often have to do with direct actions like undo, select, transform etc.
    So I would go unconventional and just create a top menu item called config or setup that can handle different kinds of tool settings, preferences and other configuration.

    Im on Mac, and Macs have one system-wide shortcut for settings ( cmd + , ). Works regardless the app.

    Check mate other system users. :)

    There's probably an alignment chart for where to put your preferences.
    And npm config is in chaotic evil.
