@stop It's sorting by the leading number up to the first letter I think. 14, 38, 129, 329, etc.

Grumm18232y@localpost that is called Lexicographic order
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/....
This is used for putting words with numbers in 'alphabetical' order. -
atheist99822yI mean... Does it matter? With names that descriptive, you're gonna have to open every file to work out what it is anyway...
-
C0D4669022yBlames OS for one's own piss poor naming conventions. At least it tried to sort this mess for you...

Grumm18232y@pythonPlusPlus Yes but to be honest, what did you expect to see as a sorted list in this case ?
Pretty sure that MacOs and Linux will give you the same results. -
@Grumm `dir` in cmd and `ls` in linux return the list in the correct order.
But I guess this is necessary in order for "9" to appear before "10" -
@C0D4 the file names are just numbers though, it's not ridiculous (except for that 2k suffix)

Order of files is hard.
E.g.

E.g. LS supports different sorting algorithms because there is hardly one fits all.
In Windows they changed it somewhere around Windows XP I think.... Numeric sort can be disabled by registry I think.
