NEW RULE

From the 15th minute of a meeting onward, my mind will phase out and I'll stop listening.

It's your care to make sure you say everything important before that happens.

    I have a similar rule but it's 30 minutes.

    After an hour I stop responding.

    After two hours I excuse myself for "something" and never come back.

    I was gone from a call for four hours once. When I came back they were still going.... Was my job impacted by this missing information? No, it never is.

    My new hobby is recording meetings and running them through s2t and gpt3 for transcription and digestion, then sending an email with the digest to everyone involved.

    My meetings have reduced like 80% by hard proving most of them all can be an email.

    Iv spent 6 hours in calls forcing the PO and BA to vomit out requirements and priorities so I can refine them.
    Then binge watched half the Netflix later that night.

    I phase out naturally in almost 5 minutes, no need to count manually even.

    Wow. You have a lot of patience to listen to stuff for 15 min straight

    Sukhoi, the genius aviation engineer and inventor, once famously said: If a meeting is longer than ten minutes, it is poorly planned.

    @kiki

    Well, I do like my beer meetings to last more than 10 minutes 😂
