lastNick5762yHow old is is that extension? When was it developed? Maybe the devices were accurate for that time.
Disclaimer: I only update the App Store pictures of my apps if I’m forced to. -
well, non-apple hardware from two generations ago is still on par with current apple-hardware, anyway. so... fitting.
-
@tosensei since when hardware specs is the only indicator of performance. There is a reason why shitdroid phones have to fill up their phones with 3rd grade, cheap hardware which is better only on paper.
Whole is more than sum of the parts. -
fckIE4992yApple used to show a old windows PC on BSOD to identify windows computers on the network. Not sure if it still does that.
-
@tosensei low level trolling: couldn’t address my valid point. Shitdroid phones have so shitty bloated software filled with un-uninstallable bloatware that they need to cram low quality hardware to keep with ios performance in their first 3 months. Then, you need factory reset every few months to wipe shitdroid’s arsehole because it can’t clean itself.
-
i agree with @tosensei tho
@aviophile
I'm pretty sure all your listed arguments apply to iOS aswell. All of them.
Oh you don't have the newest iPhone? Okay wait till the next OS update gets rid of 30% of your performance.
Uninstallable apps on iOS? What do you mean, apple says you NEED all of them, right?
As a nice bonus: development for iOS devices is much more annoying. Before you ask, i know, because i did parallel dev for what you call shitdroid, windings and assOS. -
kiki351872y@thebiochemic every android phone is unusable after two years. My iPhone X is still butter smooth.
-
kiki351872y@thebiochemic about uninstallable apps, at least iPhone doesn’t come with uninstallable shit like bixby and facebook
-
This bad boy was bought 5.5 years ago. Screen broken but functional in 98% of its area. I am not iphone buyer every year because mofos produce solid phones and update them for much longer than shitdroids. And ios perfarmance reduction with every new os is just a hysterical myth from people. Otherwise i would have 40% performance with every cumulative perf reduction.
-
@kiki also, my phone's a Xiaomi K30 5G, and since i own it, i never had problems whatsoever. No battery, no slowness, no nothing. As their business modell suggests, i have ads in some default apps, but setting the permissions usually gets rid of them. This phone is now 3 years old.

@kiki uninstallable bixby and Facebook? I wouldn't buy a phone with un-uninstallable OS.
Android phone market is full of all kinds of crap but at least you can make it somewhat work if you put in the effort. -
iPhone doesn’t have preinstalled vendor bullshit and vendor specific versions of basic apps for photos and camera.
And most preinstalled apps can be simply removed like any other app (Garage Band for example).
Yes, you can’t remove the OS, but no normal customer cares about that.
There have been cases of intentional slowdowns for older devices with newer OS versions, but it’s not like it’s being done for every update. Mistakes have been made and been corrected. -
@thebiochemic it wasn’t for some evil purpose.
“”
Many customers had long suspected that Apple slowed down older iPhones to encourage people to upgrade when a new one was released.
In 2017, the company confirmed it did slow down some models as they aged, but not to encourage people to upgrade.
It said the lithium-ion batteries in the devices became less capable of supplying peak current demands, as they aged over time.
That could result in an iPhone unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.””
Stop chewing the same gum mate. Apple still slows processor if battery is degraded. Meanwhile consider yourself lucky if you ever find shitdroid phone with the half longevity of iphones.
For the new os installers: you are 2 percent of total so that “freedom” that ends up in even less secure shitdroid phone is not so great advantage. -
@kiki sure, but who says apple wouldn't have done it, because they obviously care so much about their users?

@aviophile i still have a working Samsung Galaxy S2, if that's what you mean.
Anyways, i leave you alone in your little dream world. Apparently there's no point in arguing with you anyways 🤣 -
okay, to make something very clear @kiki :
i do own an iphone 12, a samsung note 10 or whatever its called (the one with the stylus), and i still like my chinese mofo phone better, because it just works, and wasn't unhealthy expensive. I do support the model of subsidizing price for ads, because at the end of the day a lot of people won't disable them, and i guess that's fine. However you literally can turn them off by pushing a button in a menu. If you don't believe me, here a photo for your hypocritical ass: -
@aviophile i don't need to address your "point" since it's invalid. my fairphone is bloatware free.
your premise is wrong.
This is a bitch move, yes, but a clever one. This is a screenshot of some official chrome extension made by Apple. Notice how Apple represents a “typical non-Apple computer” as some dated, old, arguably ugly design. It surely looks a generation or two older than Apple devices around.
