My webpage would be very wildly inaccurate 😂

But why are the semicolons upside down?

I recently saw the Windows laptop of an arab friend of mine. I was surprised that not only the text started from the right (obviously), but also the buttons to minimize/maximize/close windows were on the top left and the start button was on the right.

    @dyanikoglu Educate yourself.

Why isn't the closing bracket mirrored?

I will program in Arabic IF AND ONLY IF IDEs don't go crazy when mixing RTF with LTR languages, this drives me crazy when querying a database for a name written in Arabic 😭

@dyanikoglu really bro? Really? Please do yourself a favour and delete that

@dyanikoglu ok this is sick. community like that should not allow to offense whole nation/race/religion by a media victim like you.

I am asking administrators to take action for this racist comment.

    Not cool man @dyanikoglu

@BIGduzy I think brackets are not part of standard fonts. Some special characters are, but not brackets.

Am I the only one wondering, what does it do, how does it translates.

But most importantly, since when can CSS be written in non-English????
  • 2
I had no idea... and I live in the middle east.. everything code is written in American English here... oh well you learn something new every day.. wish me luck on learning Laravel @Fradow
  • 2
Here too (France) we code everything in English.

Well, good luck on learning Laravel! I heard good echoes of it.

@lazyDev that moment you're really curious as to what could've possibly been SO BAD that it actually merited a deletion here on devrant (i thought we were mostly cool)

@AllenII there was a "joke" about the corelation between arabs and bombs.
  • 0
@AllenII as @jobylie said, he made a joke about how to make bombs with that (because it's arabic language). actually I was offended
  • 5
@jobylie OH. Yeah, that was dumb
  • 4
Politicizing jokes should be taken lightly.
I mean, as long as it's not inciting violence its ok by me.

If the joke truly offends it may be because there's some truth to it.

I learn a lot about myself when I'm offended.

Anyway, I don't mean to offend anyone by my opinion.

@bioDan I agree with you on most parts and a little dark humour is always funny, but this was clrearly over the line. Sure, somebody is always going to be offended and we must not convert to a society of buthurt people where nobody can make a joke anymore, but this was just offensive.
  • 1
@jobylie I take your word for it but I guess I will never really know since i came after it was deleted.

If it wasn't inciting for violence then I guess it would've been better for people to see and judge for themselves.

@mzpro10 it wasnt my intention, i apologize. Hope you can see that.
  • 3
Don't worry, no hard feelings, it's just the stupid cliche is annoying after a few jokes.. like all Arabs are Muslims and all Muslims are terrorists. I'm Arab and not a Muslim nor a terrorist!@bioDan
  • 2
@mzpro10 thanks. I know, nobody said you are (i think, i didn't see the comment of the other dude).

I'm from israel and i know arabs which are Muslim, Christian and Jews and we are all fine with each other. Even in rough times when extremists strike.
