Why do people still use Skype

Since Discord is branded as a gaming-related app is not suitable for office usage, so I still need to use Skype at work. Also, it's true for most people I know. WHy would we bother switching then?

Excelent scaling on low bandwith networks does it for me. Viber sucks at low speed networks, whatsup sucks, google hangouts and duo meh, facetime meh. Skype is the only app which works consistently. It also compensates for network speed variations whenever i am on mobile data. I have been trieing to ditch skype for years but found nothing so far that works as well. If anyone has a suggestion though i am all ears.

Skype is shite, but it seems to be the cross platform video chat that most clients have (or heard of). I use FaceTime for colleagues, much clearer and better than Skype. But thats cos all of my colleagues are mac. I think when Microsoft get there hands on stuff it turns to shite. Just waiting to see what they do to Wunderlist.

Discord is crap, it is a program for kids that plays games.

    Slack > Skype.

And fuck video people don't need to see my face. Also, fuck audio, just send me a message. Actually, just fucking leave me alone, I'm working. 😡

I've been using Duo for a little while now and I'm thinking about switching back to Skype. The quality is really never there for me, even in great reception areas.

I wish more people knew jitsi.org
It's OSS, works within browser and as a standalone client

I only have skype installed for video and screen sharing. Discord for everything else.

Me and my friends host our own TS3 server. I don't like discord, i think it's too cluttered.

I use Pied Piper Chat, it's very fast because of the great compression algorithm.
