Why the fuck people advertise themselves as 24h service if they work 9..17?! I need a fucking plumber to change leaky toilet seat. Called over ten different guys, and, guess what? They don't give a shit!

Meanwhile I used to have clients calling in the middle of the night or early in the morning. And I DON'T work 24/7.

What's fucking wrong with this world where you have to study long years and buy pricey tools and be available to the client all the time, and on the other hand you don't have to even start a college, just have right tools and materials, and you have better job? I could become a plumber. At least my work wouldn't be outsourced to India...

Sorry you Indian guys ;-)

    We should all get a raise

    I feel your pain.

    And because I do, I won't give you hard time about your ill-advised superiority complex over blue collar jobs that don't require a college degree but still require complex training and equipment.

    @brettmoan I'm tempted to still give it to him. I've had enough elitism lately, ffs

    Yeah... The view on having a degree is slowly changing. Programming call be taught so much more efficiently than a 3 year fucking degree teaching things that mattered 10 years ago. 3 YEARS?!?

    @Metalor 3 years? Lol, I wish I could get out next spring
  • 2
    @Metalor idk, I work with some people who did 3 to 4 years of schooling and I wish I could send them back.....

    @brettmoan that's because it's taught ineffectively

    @brettmoan I don't feel superior. Honestly. It's just the way I am. Actually I think their job is harder, they don't choose freely working time, they get hurt a lot, they can't work in pajamas all day... It's easier because it's not so complex, you don't have to study that much and they see their effects just after finishing their job.
    Sorry if I hurt anyone feelings by what I wrote.

    It's next morning with my shitty problem. 7:30 of local time. Saturday.

    Not a SINGLE 24/7 plumber agreed to visit me. My wife called some construction company and since 6.30am (we wanted asap) two guys from Ukraine are doing the job. They agreed to come yesterday at 11pm but I respect my neighbors, they need to sleep too. Respect for them!
