I'm in the process of installing Windows 98 on an old ultra portable.

166mhz, 32MB of ram, 10GB hdd.

What should i install next?

Linux is not a possibility at the moment I'm only interested in Windows and DOS for this right now.

    I agree with @jespersh, stick w2k on that sucker.

    Might be a bit sluggish, but I reckon it'd be a cool challenge

    Unfortunately Windows 2000 has driver issues with the touchscreen and there's no other pointing device.

    Gonna load up DOOM and fallout to start.

    I'd try installing Windows 10 on it just for the hell of it and to see how very shit it is...

    Funny thing , we now have RAMs greater than the size of the HDD .

    I'm surprised they still sell 98!

    Can you overclock it? Upgrade the RAM? Swap the HDD for an SD or CF adaptor? (That's what I've done with a couple of Toshiba Librettos I own.)

    Batteries will probably be fucked too at that age.

    @d4ng3r0u5

    Hadn't looked into overclocking but did try to put 128MB of ram in it, it refused to boot and unfortunately that was the only other stick of ram I had that should have been compatible.

    I swapped out it's 2GB hdd for the 10GB it has now.

    It has a floppy drive so I might set up NASM or similar and write some bootable assembly.
