This company has more jobs than the number of people on earth. Must be a company held by the illuminati.

Management suddenly decides they wanted to see if a new process is any good and decides to load all the work on 2 people ( including me ) and keeps the deadline 5 days later ( when one person is taking a 3 day leave in this 5 days ).

In this situation, the other person involved in the process, routinely infuriates me by suggesting we fix up something within these days and not worry about readability or code quality. My argument is the POC is subject to heavy changes, so why not make it more "modifiable" from the start and not create a sphagetti which i would be left trying to fix when he goes on leave.

I would be blamed for slowing down things unnecessarily if i put forward my argument too sternly. Genuinely conflicted about whether to go on the offensive or to accept the reality and make myself uncomfortable by doing this faster.

What to do when you want to strangle a coworker, but he is probably just trying to do his job, the way he thinks , is the right way to do it ?

Why should every single piece of shit software ever written for Windows has to update itself everytime windows updates itself !? 1 hr after i restarted my laptop after windows update, disk usage is still at 100% ! I like a fool am waiting on a 15GB update on a game.. and it isnt even starting..😭😭

Installed Spark on mobile ( termux ) and after a hourlong battle managed to connect it as a worker for the master in my laptop.

Doing these things made me understand how underpowered mobile hardware is. I couldnt even unlock my mobile when i ran the master ( just started it.. didnt even run anything ) in my mobile.

Bad dev practices:

1. Forgetting to version control some fun project i am doing for a long time and then commit everything at once. And forget about it again..

2. I probably have too much love for abstraction. So i abstract stuff just for the fuck of it to the point my friends dont even understand what the program is for.

3. I have no patience and due to that i lose motivation when i think of some idea that is big.

4. I cant keep my ideas small enough, and i dream too big until problem3 kicks in, and then i drop the entire idea.

Has anyone here worked with OpenCL ? I was interested in learning it for a while but couldnt find any reliable course/tutorial or even sane documentation to follow. And is it even worth it now!?

Faaaaaakkk.. Fuck GTA and its helicopter missions. 4 frikkin hours to try to get on a helicopter and control it only for a rocket launcher to blow it up in 4 seconds.

Before i bought my gaming laptop, i used to think if i bought enough games i would find a game for every mood. But all i got is decision fatigue after buying 20 odd games, trying to decide which one to even install first. I am still bored almost the same amount when i used to have factorio and Dwarf fortress as the only 2 choices.

How do i get the motivation to keep working on a job which requires me to constantly edit different excel files , knowing that it will only decrease my chances of getting a better job in tech in the future !? I dont think i can even find jobs which pay well now.

Recently saw a rant here asking how bad it would if SO went out for a while, with most replies saying it would be good, and asking people to read documentation instead.

Well i tried to prepare myself for that and tried to read the selenium documentation for getting the html of a page. After 30 mins couldnt find it. A google search returned a SO answer which i didnt have to click on coz it had it in the first line.. How difficult is it to provide documentation functionwise/attributewise instead of long tutorials when i click on Documentation.? C++ libs and major python libs do it so good.

Whoever the fuck in windows decided it is a good idea to start doing a 24h+ repair on an external hard drive which doesnt even have the OS, on boot, should burn in hell.

God. I cant handle windows and its stupidity even for the 1 hr i use it to play games.

Helped a person set up a huge sas code in a different environment and run it, with deadline near our necks, only to realize that there was an error in the laaast line of the code.. Took the enterprise server environment 6 hrs to run.. and now we both are fucked..

GTA 4 , Witcher 1 and DOTA 2 .. ( I know booo.. right ? ). Just got a gaming pc months ago so smoothly ramping it up.

Sometimes it feels like ms office is just made to piss off common people when the usage gets near the boundaries. Why does recalculating an excel file with 20 tabs take 20 minutes.. !? And why i cant i do anything with excel at all with any sheet for that 20 minutes. And why cant i cancel the recalculation for a fkin minute..? If i press escape the calculation stops, and immediately resumes 3 seconds later.. And for the love of god.. I would never understand why there is no global setting to turn off auto recalculation and when i find something similar it resets on restart.. WTF...

Python just keeps on giving.. everytime i try to do something in python i find out something awesome. The pythonic way of doing things are frikkin cool. I am a huge fan of OOP, and python is my clear favourite until now.

Yesterday i was trying to figure out how to do timed callbacks in python and was figuring out how to use system.alarm for multiple alarms, and ran into sched module.

Does anyone in here use skype for business in their work !? How fucking incompetent it is at doing what it should be doing !? I just read about the 'Learn to Code' nonsense. It seems some journalists told coal miners to learn coding for a living. Wtf.. As a person doing formal CS education after 1 year of work, i take offense for that comment. Coding jobs are dragged to the ground by these comments which imply that coding is a no skill, for everyone job. Opinions ?
