@BarkingDeer it was a long time ago, but I think it was me forking around with cmd and batch files

The first thing I made (I think) was a shutdown script with custom message

I do not remember the first 'actual' program but I know it wasn't hello world

i think first thing i ever wrote (in QBASIC) was:
what's your name? :
hello, %name%!

but then, i always liked to take tutorials as more of a suggestion than a full-on instructions.

modifying the tut code outright to be yours makes it more interesting, teaches more, and such
