Had this life not turned out the way it is. Had you not been a dev, what would you imagine you would have been?

I'll go first.. i would probably have been a librarian or a security guard. Someone with lot of time at hand to read.

    idrk, but a librarian is a win-win ( if not in a popular library ). you have the time and the books in one place =]

    besides the astronaut which I didn't become ( couldn't figure where to apply for that ( but I did become psychonaut which is close enough ;} ) ) I was dreaming to become an inventor...

    Or a music composer, same thing really

    Probably an engineer, I used to build a lot of things and create solutions. Me and a friend had plans to build a robot once back in first grade and had the basic mechanic ideas for how the “muscles“ should work and be powered and was discussing how to program it to do things.

    We never got around to actually building it, at 7 years old our resources where a but limited, and I eventually struck down the programming path, but had I happened to get the chance to actually construct parts of the robot I might very well have gone the engineering way.

    And if both paths had been closed I would probably have gone the family path and become a teacher, I actually have done quite a lot of teaching and is the third generation teacher ;) so it would have been a very viable path.

    I would not have survived with any repetitive work, my brain just cannot handle to repetitive task for any extended time without either drifting of or falling a sleap :D

    @retoor hey, I have electrician education too, but besides soldering motors and other parts of my quads I don't practice that in any way

    @Nanos ooh archaeologist I forgot about that ( Indiana Jones style ofc., only on the tracks of the best artefacts ;) )

    I do have a 3D printer, but not much time to re-calibrate it...

    a meat popsicle.

    I would probably would've gotten into networking/security. I considered the field before computer science for dev since I thought the field(of development)was over saturated and getting shittier by the day. Which is true, but still.

    @Nanos I sure wonder why...
    I mean, you blow shit up. Gotta be fun if you're into explosives

    @Ranchonyx it's not an easy job, but if all goes as planned the satisfaction I presume is enormous ;)

    I would devote my life to becoming a cricket player.

    @retoor So you're saying cricket players don't exist? Or people just accidentally become cricket players?
