I actually started on a sinclair zx-80 (with 512 bytes! of ram) but I cannot claim that I learned basic on it ;) -

2erXre524688ylearned in terms of mastering it, then Java and whitespace (seriously, I wrote even an Interpreter and parser for it and implemented a memory manager in whitespace)
in terms of used it for more than a hello world, then DOS batch, Perl, VB and VBA and ASP (before the .Net era), after that ASM, C, PHP, js, python, brainfuck, bash and some rudimentary ruby - 
				
				BASIC (C64), followed by mIRC script (does that count? lol), followed by VB5/6, followed by C#/PHP/JS

Makes me happy that there are people here who know the joys of programming using bulky keyboard computers, gotos, sprites, tiny memory chips, and noisy floppy/tape storage. It was horrificly charming. - 
				
				Lua using Love2D framework.

My first Pc I actually had to upgrade from 512 kbyte to 640 kbyte using a bag of chips, the classic black one with legs ;)
But I cannot say it was better :P -
