Fuck I just realized that the title of the operating systems section is missing. it says "Operating Systems"!
-
Is not Linux too generic?
I think you should specify distro/DE
Think about Unity DE amazon search (I don't know it is still enabled by default) -
@MatiasConTilde Telegram is not there yet but will go in the not so privacy friendly section! Although they advocate privacy and are open source, the way they handle data (numerous metadata leaks, very bad cryptography) is not even close to being good enough to enlist it as privacy friendly!
-
@shelladdicted That's a Ubuntu thingy as far as I know. I'd love to do all distro's but damn that would be a god damn long list!
-
Dacexi119967y@linuxxx I remember you sending a link like 1 month ago. Might just be my imagination 🤔
-
Dacexi119967y@linuxxx will users be able to submit apps etc and rate them? Would be a cool concept. I could help you with DB stuff if you don't know how to do it :)
-
@Dacexi The DB stuff is alright, also have a few people in a linux/foss chat who are good with that so that's covered! (thanks for the offer though!). Except for that I might need some help on the frontend soon but let me first verify that one :P
-
@Dacexi Oh and as for submitting apps, good idea, hadn't thought of that one yet! Rating, same, will think about that one as well! Thanks a lot!
-
@Artemix Might indeed be a good idea to already setup some db/document with submissions! And yeah discussing that over Signal would be the best option for me :). Involving the linux gang sounds good as well haha
-
@windlessuser no offense but don't worry, you'll lose. Not as for opinions but as for facts. It's a fact that telegram is not secure and if you don't believe me, search engine a little :)
-
@windlessuser Telegrams crypto is custom made (and in a very bad way), they do not protect against MiTM attacks, they save way too much metadata and the default chats are not end to end encrypted. They still dare to advertise as 'secure'.
-
@Artemix Nahh haha idk, I expect people on here in general to represent themselves the way they are irl haha. I should have at least kept this one in mind but still, that freaked me out a little since I've had an online stalker situation which went like this for a while, sorry :P
-
@linuxxx double oh 😆 But I kinda guessed it - since "Artem" is a russian male name.
Edit: how much more can I miss, it literally says his name on github too 😁 -
@Artemix Oh forgot that one Oo. I can't find it on your github profile :/. Might need to just DDG it or something :P
-
@Artemix Uhm I do not have github 😓. I'm thinking of another way of exchanging Email accounts right now...

Hello devRanters! A new update on the privacy website as I've had time to work on that last weekend.
For the picture: everything except for the images (although the URI's are in the database) is coming directly from the DB!
Also got a thingy working which can show one app on a single page including it's pro's/cons etc that you see on the main page but also (still have to write that part though and no screenshots yet as I've only done the backend!) sources (links to proof etc), a description and a guide on how to use that app/service!
I'm finally getting somewhere :)
