Frameworks are so 2022. The real way of doing it is web sockets into a bash script

At a certain point every software engineer realizes that those that do not understand software think that we are interchangeable clones.

They hire us to work but in reality it is to "finish" the software. Then they think it is "finished" and they fire us (layoff).

Then they get bad reviews, bug reports, sales drop and go "oh shit, we need to hire some software engineers to fix this and rescue us from our poor management decisions".

    And the cycle starts over.

So, recognize when the software is just about "finished" in their eyes and make sure you have a resume out and are interviewing about 75% the way through the project you are working on.

Get a good offer and drop the company you are with like a hot potato.

Consider that companies are faithful to stock holders and profits, not YOU. You need to be faithful to YOU.

You will gain an enormous amount of experience in doing this. You may even open up your own software engineering consulting group.

@xcodesucks In my case we were just a startup that failed to gain traction but I agree with you in general.

@lungdart and the bash script just pipes the inputs to a program written in common lisp. but all the modules that need to perform are implemented in rust.

and its all tracked and agile'd up its own asshole using a macbeth length config file tied into the company jira dashboard.
