Does anyone else have this?

When you flash something onto your android phones and the boot process afterwards takes very long and you start to get veeeeeery nervous 😅

not yet done since most times my Android phones had no custom roms available for them and the default ways often didn't work (samsung xcover series)

maybe i will get this year a few old smartphones from friends to play with

    Every time!

That intermediate state is nerve-wrecking. I tend to go for a walk/something in another room to keep me from nervously scaring at the screen, waiting for the phone to turn on/in a brick. 8)

    @nin0x03 This yes xD

That's when you flash deodexed zipaligned ROMs. Boot process takes long because it optimizes apps

    Pretty normal I think.

May I ask what Rom did you install?

Its eaysier than some years ago but still gives me goosebumps every time!

    Every time :/

I literally start hearing my heart beat and just stare at it while it's booting animation is displayed. I did it 2-3 days ago on my new phone though.

@linuxxx Fuck, Xposed has bricked 2 of my devices, completely understand the nervousness.

Coming from Nexus lines, snooping around my S8 always kinda get me shitty in my pants
  • 3
    Haha, totally! :D

I unbricked my phone 5 times, so we're past this stage of relationship.

Maybe try LiveBoot though that's also kinda nervous....

    Oh god, yes.
    *Heartrate rises*
    *Heavy breathing*

@PrivateGER reminds me... Same as bidding on eBay first thing in the morning...

And then I hope/realize I didnt fck/fcked up cuz I don't actually really want whatever I bid on... And then hope I get outbid...

with 24hrs left the wait is nerve wracking....

esp when the item is .01 but the shipping is $15.... but I didn't notice.... fck..

I’ve soft-bricked enough droids that that feeling went away 😂

Honestly it’s horrific at first but after a while it’s just like “fuck this phone! ODIN IS HERE!”

@jamescodesthing In my case SPFlash tool (or however you call it) :D. Thank fuck it runs natively on linux.

@linuxxx I like the idea of sending a god to brick my phone 😂

Fair play man, fair play 😄

Fuck yes on my first Android phone X10 mini pro! I even soft-bricked a few times. That's why an unlockable bootloader is preferred

    Everyone have this.

No, because I got TWRP and a nandroid backup

First time I flashed a rom, it took about 5 minutes frozen in the same screen. I was really desperate.

When the screen changed, I almost had an orgasm (do people use this expression in English too?).

Oh, the mini heart attack. And watching the clock and mobile screen every second.
SP flash tool have saved my device more than a dozen times. :/

The last time I did this was with my Galaxy S3 about 5 years ago... Was a great time when there were hundreds of ROMs and Mods and you were able to root your phone with an app... But yeah that moments when I had bootloops, long startup times, flashing fails, etc.... 😅

I"m always like one more minute and i'm flashing my backup

Usually I'm like: "Not sure if this is the first boot or next one after bootloop"
