Go to a supermarket and buy an enormous bag of rice for a Very few dollars, and your set.

Going through this myself. Rice, eggs and potatoes have the best bang for your buck. Good luck.

if you have a stove and a freezer you can go to these small grocery stores when they open and get meat really cheap that's close to expiring. Not really going to help you right now but something to remember to keep from getting to this point. But to get you though the month rice, ramen, can foods

Oats, rice, beans, seeds, turkish yoghurt .. Generally stuff I can buy in bulk, on a sale.
find in nature or grow myself..

There are also the homeless shelters that often times offer a meal.

Oh and more often than not, if you can get away with scavenging the store containers, you might find stuff that's only just expired and can still ve consumed.

@PerfectAsshole meats is good, but I would avoid ramen as a staple meal. Unless it gets desperate ramen is not good for nutrition

@Deim well thats what i meant by to get you though the month. If you buy meat while its on mark down it should free up money where you can afford more than ramen

When I'm lazy i like frozen chicken breast which I put in a backing up bread roll with some oil.

What I found is that Indian style food is quite cheap to make. Boil some oil/butter, choped onion in a pan, add greek yogurt, curry powder, ketchup, and add something as a main dish like a tin can of chickpeas or potato pieces.

It is actually crazy, when I want to save money I eat very healthy, making pasta with salads and sauces and vegetables. When I have money I can't be bothered and just go to subway.

When I studied, I used to have mac and cheese, fish fingers or a tuna sandwich.

    Some rules:
    If you have x money:
    0. Just had to start count from 0
    1. Invest x/2 in cryptocurrencies.
    2. Buy a burgers from the local unknown shop for 2-3$.
    3. You can get anything less than the burger.
    4. You can only get chocolate on Wednesdays
    5. Profit from investments
    6. Buy some real junk food
